History of Troop 813

Founded in 1988 in the Mission Oaks portion of Camarillo California, Troop 813 has always enjoyed a large variety of outings, great adult and committee support, and tremendous youth leadership. From our first SPL to the present day the Troop has been Scout lead.

Over the years we have climbed Mt Whitney and Yosemite’s Half Dome; backpacked on week long 50+ mile treks in the Sierra Nevada and the Rocky Mountains; paddled down the Colorado, and sailed the Pacific on the Argus a topsail ketch built in 1905; camped at the beach, in the mountains, and the desert; hiked historic trails in town and out; and spent our summers in the Sierras, the White Mountains of Arizona, the Anza Borrega Desert, on Catalina Island, and in the Los Padres Mountains.

Scouting For Food Troop 813The Troop has always taken part in community service projects like the annual Scouting For Food drive and the California Coastal Clean up.

it's about fun, hard work, and activties...

All in all, we have had fun. We have always worked hard on our advancement and Scout skills. We have grown together, developed our leadership and outdoor skills; have learned about life, and most importantly ourselves.Scouting For Food Troop 813
